When I got the invitation to watch a screener for A House on the Bayou, I instantly said yes. I don’t think it’s a secret that I love nearly everything Blumhouse is attached to, but after watching the trailer, I was excited to see more.

And now the trailer:
top 5 reasons to watch a house on the bayou:
- the setting — I’ve always wanted to see the southern states, so I’m a sucker for any movie set in the south.
- the house — a sprawling, gorgeous mansion set on a huge plot of land with neighbors who are miles away? yeah, you know nothing good is going to happen.
- the concept — what starts out as a family vacation of sorts, veers into another direction quite quickly and I was here for it.
Okay, so there are only three things I’m sharing and they’re all really vague, but trust me…I didn’t know too much about this movie going in and I think that’s the best way to do it. There were some pretty good reveals that I didn’t see coming and I don’t want to spoil it.
Huge thanks to Epix, Paramount, and Blumhouse for the invite and the early viewing. A House on the Bayou releases on the 19th and can be seen on Epix or through VUDU.
