The time it was about The GOAT

When I got the invite to view screeners for The GOAT, I was instantly in.  I don’t really watch a lot of reality tv, but I am a ridiculously huge fan of Alyssa Edwards, so when I saw that she was on the show, I was in.

Title: The GOAT
Episodes: 10 x 40-50 minute episodes
Genre: Reality/Competition
Platform: Prime Video
Release Date: May 9, 2024

Synopsis: 14 reality superstars move into GOAT Manor to face off in a brand new, hilarious competition show, hosted by Daniel Tosh. They will compete in over 20 challenges, earning and breaking one another’s trust as they battle it out for $200k…and the title of Greatest Of All Time.

Contestants: Tayshia Adams (The Bachelor franchise), Joe Amabile (The Bachelor franchise, Dancing with the Stars), Kristen Doute (Vanderpump Rules), Reza Farahan (Shahs of Sunset), CJ Franco (FBoy Island), Wendell Holland (Survivor), Teck Holmes (The Real World, The Challenge), Justin Johnson/Alyssa Edwards (RuPaul’s Drag Race), Paola Mayfield (90 Day Fiancé), Da’Vonne Rogers (Big Brother, The Challenge), Joey Sasso (The Circle, Perfect Match), Jason Smith (Holiday Baking Championship), Lauren Speed-Hamilton (Love Is Blind), Jill Zarin (The Real Housewives of New York City)

Before we get to my top 5 reasons to watch, let’s check out the trailer:

top 5 reasons to watch The GOAT:

  • the comedy — loads of sarcasm and dry wit and I’m here for all of it
  • the drama — it’s pretty much right from the start and it’s sort of delicious
  • the contestants — I am not familiar with any of them (except Alyssa), so it’s been interesting learning about them as this show progresses
  • the challenges — they’re ridiculous and so much fun
  • the host — Daniel Tosh is hit or miss for me, but this set up seems to be tailored for him

“Nobody has dared to find out who is the actual best at just being on a reality show, so we have scoured the Earth for the 14 greatest reality contestants that were available during our production window.”

Okay, so I’ve only seen the first 4 episodes and I’m eager to see how it all plays out. I will definitely be watching every week.

Huge thanks to Prime Video for spoiling me with screeners.  The GOAT releases three episodes on May 9th and then weekly.
