The time it was about Conjuring Kesha

When I got the invite to watch a screener of the upcoming show “Conjuring Kesha”, I couldn’t reply fast enough.  In my household, we try nearly every paranormal show once and I was eager to see what Kesha brought to the genre.

Title: Conjuring Kesha
Season: One
Format: Paranormal/Reality TV
Episodes: 6 x 60 minutes
Platform: Discovery+
Release Date: July 8, 2022 (first two episodes air)

Synopsis: Grammy®-nominated singer songwriter and global pop superstar Kesha expands her understanding of the universe, journeying deep into the heart of darkness, all while checking off her paranormal bucket list. In the six one-hour episodes, Kesha explores the nation’s biggest mysteries, haunted locations and supernatural phenomena with exciting celebrity guests and experts in the unexplained.

Cast: Kesha, Whitney Cummings, Jojo Fletcher, Betty Who, GaTa, Karen Elson, Big Freedia, Cindy Kaze, and Chip Coffey

Before we get to my top 5 reasons to watch, let’s check out the trailer.

Top five reasons to watch Conjuring Kesha:

  • The relatability — Kesha and her guests speak to the camera like they’re talking to friends
  • The guests — from a former prison guard to a catholic demonologist to other investigators and witnesses, there were several interesting people included
  • The enthusiasm — Kesha and her friends are all in right from the start and I loved that they were so willing, even while afraid

Kesha: “To me, the supernatural comes naturally. The unknown is worth exploring. So let’s go.”

Okay, so there’s only three reasons and that’s partly because only a couple of episodes were available to watch and partly because it is so very different from other paranormal shows I’ve watched before.

On Conjuring Kesha, there were a few glaring differences: the devices used weren’t really explained and not a lot of the history on the location is shared. Regardless, it’s still fun (especially for a first time watcher of a paranormal show) and I know I’ll keep watching the rest of the series.

Huge thanks to Discovery+ for the invite.  The first two episodes of Conjuring Kesha air on July 8th, with other episodes to follow on Fridays.

Do you watch any paranormal shows? Do you believe in ghosts?
