You guys. It’s October and I have no idea where the year has gone. It seems like I was just counting down to Hamilton and now I’m eagerly awaiting the three days of rain we get in SoCal and reading by the fire. As always, I digress.
Settle in. Here’s the recap for September!
Last month, I read a total of 22 books. {Click on the covers for my review on GR}
Okay, so I DNF’d Empire of Storms and there were a couple of novellas in there…I’m still counting them.
- St Martin’s Press sent me a signed first edition of Godsgrave.
- Wednesday Books sent me a box of goodies complete with stickers, bookmarks, books, and the most awesomely huge tote bag I’ve ever seen in my life.
- Simon & Schuester sent a magical care box filled with The Rules of Magic, soap, a candle, tea, and an adorable cauldron mug {but mine was broken}.
- Macmillan kept their awesome streak going when it comes to Leigh Bardugo swag and sent me this hidey-hole fake book version of The Language of Thorns.
- Penguin Teen sent an early finished copy of Warcross.
- Fierce Reads sent a Renegades mega pack and I haven’t had a chance to photograph it properly.
Fangirled over:
- Tamara Ireland Stone and Alexandra Bracken for Click’d and The Dreadful Tale of Prosper Redding
- Marie Lu for Warcross
Interviewed:
- Cat Winters for Odd & True
- Krystal Sutherland for A Semi-Definitive List of Worst Nightmares + a top 5 reasons to read
Special stuff:
- Top 5 Reasons to Read: Warcross
- Top 5 Reasons to Read: Moxie
- Celebrating the release of The Language of Thorns by sharing my top five characters from Labyrinth
- Top 5 Reasons to Read: Things I’m Seeing Without You
- Top 5 Reasons to Read: Wild Beauty
- I went to the Kristin Cashore signing and there’s no recap. I had the draft saved and when I dowloaded iOS 11, it was deleted….so here are a few pictures. Aditi Khorana and Kiersten White were also there and the discussion was fun and there were some great questions and I’m bummed that I can’t share it. From now on, I’ll be typing in an app that auto-saves to the cloud while using it, so this shouldn’t happen again. Fingers crossed.
- I finally got my Lila pop from Cait at A Page with a View and I can’t even tell you how much I love her. Cait’s packaging is also amazing and love all of the details. Now let’s see how long it takes me to get a photo of the Lila Bard arm claw hand holding the Lila pop and the book. My neighbors are going to love that…
- Fangirling over: Stephanie Perkins {recap is already up}, Maggie Stiefvater, Nikki Katz, and maybe the Epic Reads Meet Up with something like 5 authors.
- Interviewing: Tara Sim, Malinda Lo, and K. Ancrum. Plus a blog tour post on my favorite villains for Renegades by Marissa Meyer.
- Reading Rewind: I’ve had the book I’m going to read on the table for the last 3 months. I just need to read it, so hopefully.
- Discussion post: Same as above. Just switch some of it around. I have the topic outlined, just need to sit down and type it up.
- Special Stuff: I’ve gotten a lot of finished copies and/or arcs from publishers for a lot of the signings I’ve gone to lately. Be on the lookout for a signed book giveaway…I don’t know if it’ll be on Twitter or IG or both, but it’s coming up some time this month.
How about you? How was your September? What was your favorite read for the month?
22 books? Every month I always amaze by number of books you have read Stacee :D congrats :D I am curious about Boomerang Boyfriend and saw you gave 2 star make me rethink wheter I will read or not.
You might really like Boomerang Boyfriend! There were just some aspects of it that I really didn’t care for and it all revolves around a secret that one of the characters has.
Thanks for reading and commenting!
I loved The Rules of Magic; I hope you will as well. It was my fourth Alice Hoffman book read. After I finished I wanted to read Practical Magic right away, but my library didn’t have a digital copy for loan, so I am hoping the ebook will be on sale the day the TRoM publishes. :) Sorry your cauldron mug was broken. :(
You got a lot of fab goodies last month! And yes, it is crazy that it is October already. I’m looking forward to your Reading Rewind post. Have a wondergul October. :)
To be totally honest, I had no idea Practical Magic was a book and I squealed when they contacted me about Rules. I can’t wait to read it.
Thanks for reading and commenting!!
Ahh, you did so much awesome in September :D I’m so jealous. Thank you for sharing about it Stacee. <3 And yay for reading a lot of lovely books too. I must read The Language of Thorns soon. So excited for it. <3 Happy reading sweetie. Hope October is going great for you :D
I hope we both read and love TLoT soon! I only read the last story, but I’m sure that the rest of them will be just as awesome.
Thanks for reading and commenting!!
Gah! You DNF’d Empire of Storms?? I haven’t read it yet because I can’t remember ANYTHING from Queen of Shadows, and I’m not ready to do a full-series re-read yet. I’ve heard mixed things and I’m super nervous :(
I DNF’d and I’m officially done with that series. Two of my close friends love love loved it and you might too!!
This makes me ridiculously sad :( I’m gonna wait and do a full series re-read when the final book comes out. Not worth it until then because if I do it before, I’ll just forget everything again.
Whoa 22 books! That is a lot, and I see some of my anticipated reads there. I hope October will also be an amazing reading month for you!
