Hi guys! Welcome to another edition of the mutiny.
What’s the mutiny you ask? Well, I have always said that I wasn’t going to become a review blog and yet, I’ve had this itch in the back of my head… so here we are. I’m waging a mutiny against myself and I’m going to do some mini reviews + feature upcoming reads I’m excited about.
For this specific edition, I’m going to share some of my favorite reads from March, so settle in!
The Damned by Renée Ahdieh — 5★ — I’m not going to get into this because it’s still a bit away from the release date. Just know that I loved this story so much more than The Beautiful and while we do get some answers, the ending makes me hope there will be another book. {Yes, I know it’s supposed to be a duology.}
Lord Holt Takes a Bride by Vivienne Lorret — 4★ — I’m absolutely here for anything from Vivienne. I’ve enjoyed several other books of hers and I’m excited about a new series. I loved Winn and Asher. She’s spunky and he’s charming and they truly don’t know what to do with each other. I enjoyed reading them figure things out and their relationship quickly move from strangers to like to lust. There’s a steady plan that kept getting derailed and while I new there was going to be a HEA, I enjoyed the journey to get there.
Captain Heartbreaker by Brighton Walsh — 5★ — I will read anything Brighton puts out, so I don’t even care about the synopsis. I love love loved Mac. She’s full of sass and smarts and absolutely underestimates her worth. Hudson is confident and a complete marshmallow when it comes to his Kenna. I loved their history and button pushing and JFC the chemistry. There’s not nearly as much as push and pull as I was expecting and even though each of them had some second guessing at various times of the story, the love between them was so apparent.
An Heiress to Remember by Maya Rodale — 4★ — I had read the previous book in this series and was eager to get to this one. I loved Beatrice and Dalton. I loved their backstory and how each has thought about the other while they were apart. I loved how dedicated and passionate she was for the store and how steadfast he was for her. I enjoyed the story of a woman building a store with women for women. There’s a lot of modern thinking and I was here for all of it.
You Let Me In by Camilla Bruce — a story that might have a dead person, but definitely has a pile of money and a manuscript left behind? Oh yes.
Girls Save the World in This One by Ash Parsons — a group of girls who fight real zombies at a zombie convention? I’m here for it.
The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires by Grady Hendrix — a book club of southern women, set in the 90s who believe a newcomer is a vampire? This is legit everything I could want.
Kind of Famous by Mary Ann Marlowe — a reporter slash fan blogger who meets and gets involved with a member of the band she’s fangirling over? yes yes yes.
To Have and to Hoax by Martha Waters — a historical romance between a married couple who were madly in love, but got into a fight and haven’t spoken since and are now faking illness for attention? Count me in.

I’m actually currently reading an ARC of Girls Save the World in This One and really enjoying it! I don’t tend to read zombie books, so I’m quite surprised (but in the best way possible) that I’m having so much fun while I’m reading! I hope you enjoy it as well!
Zombies are my favorite, so I’m especially excited for it.

i love the cover for both the beautiful and the damned, but i don’t think i will read it as i’ve been disappointed with the author’s previous series. great post! <3
