The time it was about what I’m watching {6}

California is still (sort of) in lock down and even though we’re both back at work full time and now fully vaccinated, hubs and i are still spending a good portion of our weekends at home. and when goblin puppy allows, we close all of the blinds, cover up with a cozy blanket, and start a new show.

this is what we’ve been watching over the last couple of months…

godzilla vs kong —  When I saw this announced, I knew two things: it was likely going to be a hot mess and I was absolutely going to watch it. I will say that I wanted a lot more fighting, but I was entertained the entire time. (previously on hbo max)

roadies — We watched this show when it aired on Showtime a million years ago.  It was a quick favorite (great story! great cast! great music!) and was canceled after one season (of course ending unsatisfactorily) and was basically never seen again.  One day, it randomly showed up and we watched it immediately. Still a favorite.  Still pissed at the finale.  (s1 on hulu)

thunder force — This one started out strong, but I quickly lost interest in what was happening. Hubs continued it and he liked it. (movie on netflix)

shadow and bone — I want to rewatch this one. It was exciting to see my Crow babies on screen and I definitely need more of everyone.  I can’t wait to see them all together and scheming.  (s1 on netflix)

what drives us — I will legit watch anything that Dave Grohl puts together and I couldn’t pass up on a documentary showcasing bands and their history of touring in a van.  (documentary on prime)

from cradle to stage — A show based on Dave Grohl’s mom’s book that interviews other musicians and their moms? Count me in. We’ve been loving this one and I can’t wait to get to Tom Morello’s episode. (Season 1 on Paramount+)

the woman in the window — I’m all in for any sort of in house suspense movie and this one was good. I loved the setting and the extra feeling of separation after covid. (movie on netflix)

back in time — Hubs and I are huge fans of the Back to the Future trilogy and we couldn’t pass on this story about the process of writing and filming the movies, as well things like the DeLorean fan clubs. (documentary on hulu)

disclosure — This has been something I’ve been meaning to watch for a while and I finally had the chance to sit down and absorb.  I highly recommend watching this one and paying attention.  (documentary on netflix)

servant — we devoured the first season and couldn’t wait for all of the episodes of season 2.  of course it ended on a wtf ending, but it works. I’ll just be here, waiting for season 3. (s1-2 on apple tv+)

have you seen any of these shows or movies? what have you been watching lately?
