Hi guys! Welcome to another edition of the mutiny.
What’s the mutiny you ask? Well, I have always said that I wasn’t going to become a review blog and yet, I’ve had this itch in the back of my head… so here we are. I’m waging a mutiny against myself and I’m going to do some mini reviews + feature upcoming reads I’m excited about.
For this specific edition, I’m going to share some of my favorite reads from January, so settle in!
Tweet Cute by Emma Lord — 5★ — I already gave my top 5 reasons to read this book in the blog tour post, but I can’t help it…I loved this book so much I just need to share again. Great characters, fun banter, and delicious foods made for a fun and quick read.
The Boy by Tami Hoag — 5★ — I think I’ve read all of Tami’s books and as I’m gearing up to jump back into thrillers, I was so excited to see there was another book featuring Annie and Nick. I loved these characters in A Thin Dark Line and couldn’t wait to get back to them. This book was exactly what I wanted to read.
Again the Magic by Lisa Kleypas — 5★ — I’m here for all things LK and this one came highly recommended from Lacey. A second chance romance with the ever-so-popular “I love you so much that we’re breaking up for your own good” situation; however, there’s a lot more to this one. Added bonus: it features the sisters of Marcus {aka: the hero in It Happened One Autumn}
Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase — 5★ — This was another rec from Lacey and this one she mentioned when we were talking about favorite couples. Jessica and Sebastian are a perfect set of button pushing and chemistry and even though I wanted more from the reveals at the end, I know this will be a story I read again when I need a pick me up.
Ten Days Gone by Beverly Long — I’m so excited for the idea of a serial killer who drops a body within the same time frame every time. I’m expecting loads of tension and I can’t wait to get to this one.
Chasing Cassandra by Lisa Kleypas — Honestly, I haven’t even read the synopsis of this one, but it has Lisa’s name on it, so I’m in.
A Cold Trail by Robert Dugoni — This title was sent to me as a pitch and I love everything about the cover and description. Fingers crossed it delivers.
What about you? Have you read any of these books or do you want to?
I loved Tweet Cute and have gushed about it ever since. I even have the monster cake recipe.
Oooh, where did you get the recipe from?
I actually just got Lord of Scoundrels out from the library! I’m now even more excited to read it!
hooray! I hope you love it!!
