The time it was a monthly recap {33}

You guys. It’s officially May.  <insert something witty about time flying because I’ve got nothing.>

are you ready for the monthly recap? Settle in.

Last month, I read a total of 30 books. {Click on the covers for my review on GR}

i’m finally ahead of my reading challenge for the first time in about 3 months. okay, so maybe i cheated a bit with reading those three sarah andersen books, but i regret nothing.

  • Jimmy Patterson sent me an arc of Escaping from Houdini and I legit screamed in my UPS guy’s face
  • Harper surprised me with a copy of What Should Be Wild and I swooned over that cover
  • Simon Teen sent me a copy of Emergency Contact + a gifting copy and pop socket

  • Ava Delaria sent me a copy of her new book with a lovely ribbon and the sweetest note card
  • I won an arc of My Plain Jane from Jodi Meadows and Demetra Brodsky sent me an arc of her upcoming book
  • Simon Teen and Fierce Reads surprised me with some new pretties

Fangirled over:

Special stuff:

I had a few other events I was going to go to, but ended up skipping them and I guess April was a slow month for blog/book stuff? *shrugs*

  • Brittney, Erin, and I are doing another instagram photo challenge! Use #maybookstagram18 to check it out
  • I’m going to “be a Sadie” at YallWest.  I’ll have on a red sweatshirt and if you find me, you have a chance to get an arc of Sadie by Courtney Summers
  • I was invited to go to the LA press conference for David Tennant’s upcoming movie Bad Samaritan.  I’ll have a separate post up about it {hopefully} this week.
  • I did a poll on twitter and IG about a Q&a blog post and the responses were high in the affirmative.  Feel free to submit your questions here.

  • Fangirling over: Becky Albertalli, Kasie West, and Sandhya Menon {plus more} at YallWest. I also have plans to see Brigid Kemmerer and AC Gaughen, but I don’t know for sure if i’ll make it
  • Reading Rewind: Yes?
  • Special Stuff: we’re heading to phoenix comic fest at the end of the month.  victoria schwab will be there and i can’t wait to see her again. i have a tattoo appointment this month and yes, it’s bookish. and the mgyabc is reading daughter of the burning city, which i’m super excited for.

How about you? How was your April? What was your favorite read for the month?
