So, while we’ve been in lock down, we’ve started taking advantage of all of the streaming platforms we subscribe to, but never really had time to explore.
I’m not sure if this is going to be a regular feature sort of thing, but I do know that I spent a crazy amount of time making the above graphic, so we’ll see.
i am not okay with this — We were fans of The End of the F***ing World and when saw this one was set in the same world, there was no way we would be skipping it. Plus, we just gotta support the kids from IT. I really hope there’s more to this series. (Season 1 on Netflix)
the mandalorian — As soon as this was announced, I was intrigued. We purposely waited until all of the episodes to release and then never actually got to it. Once the stay at home order was in place, I told Hubs this was a have to watch. I’m so ready for season 2 and where it goes. (Season 1 on Disney+)
schitt’s creek — Watching this show was straight up peer pressure. I had seen so many people talking about it on social media and we couldn’t resist any longer. We’ve since watched all 5 seasons twice and I’m basically counting down the days until the final season is streaming. (Seasons 1-5 on Netflix)
servant — I went into this one without knowing anything more than M. Night Shyamalan had something to do with it. This show pretty much takes place inside a brownstone in Philadelphia and I couldn’t get enough. The ending was satisfying and confusing and if there’s more to it, I’ll definitely be watching. (Season 1 on Apple TV)
locke & key — We watched the trailer for this one a few times before committing to it. I’ve met Joe Hill, but wasn’t familiar with the graphic novels. This series is shot so well, the story was captivating, and I was borderline obsessed with how some of the keys looked. I read somewhere that there’s going to be another season and I really hope there will be. (Season 1 on Netflix)
tiger king — We watched only because we had no idea wtf everyone was freaking out about, so we caved…and yeah. Does it even need a further explanation? (Season 1 on Netflix)
miss americana — Controversial opinion here: I’ve never understood the appeal to Taylor Swift. I’ve seen some of the interviews she’s done and I love how she uses her platform for good, but with the exception of a few songs, I figured she just wasn’t for me. I saw the trailer for this documentary and devoured it. Her story captivated me and I immediately downloaded Lover afterwards. I may be late to the party, but I’m here now. (Documentary on Netflix)
the haunting of hill house — When this series came out, I had seen several people saying it was the scariest thing they’d ever seen and they couldn’t watch it at night. Well, that sold it for me so we started it…and the first episode was definitely creepy. The storytelling was amazing and I didn’t recognize the original story, which to me was an amazing thing. (Season 1 on Netflix)
how to fix a drug scandal — This was a captivating documentary about two drug lab chemists who commit crimes (one falsifies all of her findings to please the DA and one starts using drugs and making meth) and how their actions effected thousands of inmates. (Season 1 on Netflix)
cursed films — I’m 1000% here for anything behind the scenes when it comes to movies and just seeing this title had me intrigued. Each episode is a 30 minute story about a particular film. We watched The Omen, The Crow and Poltergeist and I couldn’t get enough of them. (Season 1 on Shudder)
prop culture — More behind the scenes, but make it Disney. (Season 1 on Disney+)
game of thrones — This was another curiosity watch. I never planned on ever watching this show because I don’t do high fantasy well. Hubs started watching it and by the second episode, I was intrigued. By the end of fourth, I was captivated. We’re about to start season 7 and I can’t wait to see how everything plays out. (Seasons 1-8 on HBO Go)
