You guys. Can you even believe that it’s March? This year is already moving so fast and March is going to be crazy busy. Before I get ahead of myself, let’s talk about February.
Let’s settle in.

I would have read a bit more, but I was obsessed with the winter Olympics and watched almost every night. I mean, I was there for casual watching, yet Tessa and Scott and Adam changed that pretty quickly.
- I saw Mary Pearson at Mysterious Galaxy and she spoiled me with an arc of her new book. I wanted to scream, but couldn’t because there were loads of people in the store. Instead I squeezed her a million times.
- Macmillan sent me the movie tie-in hardcover of A Wrinkle of Time and I love that cover
- Wednesday Books sent me gorgeous finished copies of Wintersong and Shadowsong, complete with a poppy
- I got a surprise package from Flatiron and Legendary was in it. I then proceeded to scream and take photos at the post office.
- A lovely person at Disney books sent me Neanderthal Opens the Door to the Universe {which sounds awesome} and Little Do We Know {which is awesome}
- Knopf sent me a finished and early copy of Obsidio. Cue the screaming and photo shoot at the post office. This time, there were two old men staring at me.
Fangirled over:
- Susan Dennard and Holly Black for Sightwitch and The Cruel Prince
Interviewed:
- Dhonielle Clayton for The Belles
- Courtney Alameda for Pitch Dark
- Mary Pearson for Dance of Thieves {Ontario Teen Book Fest}
Special stuff:
- 5 Reasons to Read: Rebel of the Sands trilogy
- Reading Rewind: The Girl of Fire and Thorns
- 5 Reasons to Read: A Wrinkle in Time
- I was approved for a press pass for the Long Beach Comic Expo. Neither of us had heard of the event and and it was so much fun. There were lots of great artists and vendors we hadn’t seen before and the Long Beach public library had a Stranger Things photo booth and pin making station if you signed up for card. Which we did.
- Joe Keery was there and my head surprisingly did not explode. He was so lovely and is easily the sweetest and nicest person I’ve ever met. Ever.
- We did an autograph and a photo op and he was chatty both times. We did the autograph first and he talked about the bat in the photo. When we saw him later in the day for the photo, he remembered us and thanked us for coming to see him again.
- If you want to see some of the awesome Stranger Things cosplay, check out my personal instagram.
- Fangirling over: Tomi Adeymi, Ashley Poston, Tahereh Mafi, Amie Kaufman, Jay Kristoff, and Gayle Forman
- Interviewing: Alexandra Christo, Brigid Kemmerer
- Reading Rewind: Probably. I don’t have a book in mind, but I might cheat, so we’ll see.
- Discussion post: Perhaps.
- Special Stuff: a review of Obsidio, blog tour for Children of Blood and Bone
- Extra Special Stuff: a recap of the Love, Simon press junket and private movie screening that I was invited to.
