The time it was about The Language of Thorns

When I got the invite to be part of the “unconventional” blog tour for The Language of Thorns, I said yes before I even finished reading the email.  I mean, it’s Leigh + Fierce Reads, so I knew it would be something fun and amazing.

The Language of Thorns is all about fairy tales, folklore, and mythical creatures in the Grishaverse.  And to celebrate the release day of TLoT, today I will be sharing my favorite creatures from the movie Labyrinth.

And now, my favorites from Labyrinth:

Ludo

Ludo is sweet and friendly. Don’t let his size make you think he’s a big, dumb animal because he’s not.  He can summon rocks by shouting and is probably the most loyal of all of the characters.   Oh, and he doesn’t actually have the door knocker in his mouth all the time, but I loved that scene and couldn’t resist.

Sir Didymus and Ambrosius

When I was younger, I thought Sir Didymus was a fox {now I’m not really sure what he is} with an eyepatch and Ambrosius is a sheepdog.  Together, they guard the troll bridge across the Bog of Eternal Stench. Sir Didymus is brave always ready to fight and Ambrosius would rather run away.  Together they are quite delightful and always made me laugh.

Jareth the Goblin King

Okay, so he’s not a “creature” per se, but I just can’t make a list of characters from this movie and not mention Jareth {or David Bowie}.  Jareth is moody and arrogant and wears a lot of sparkly clothing.  I was sort of obsessed with him when I first saw the movie.  And I still sing this song a lot…
