Hi everyone! Here we are for another round of Reading Rewind!
When it came time to pick a book for September, I took to Twitter and you guys answered the call. For some reason, I never got around to starting the book {who knows why}, so here we go.
You guys chose The Scorpio Races!
1. When did you originally read the book and what did you rate it?
I read TSR in March of 2012 and rated it 4 stars. It was my first Maggie book. Everyone had been going on and on about how amazing it was. And I had no idea what I was getting into.
2. Why did you love it?
I didn’t write a review, so I’m going to guess I enjoyed the imagery and magic of the story. You know, the Maggie standard.
3. After the re-read did your rating/feelings about it change? Why or why not?
I rated the re-read 5 stars.
I loooooooved Puck and Sean and the horses and the town. And still the imagery and magic of the story. This time around, I knew that I needed to read Maggie’s books slowly and read every word. I really took my time with it {I’m literally typing this up the night before the post goes live because I just finished the book.}
I forgot how delicious the slow burn build up to race day was. I forgot how Sean whispered to Corr and the other horses. I forgot how angry Mutt made me. I forgot about the anticipation of the race and how I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. I forgot about the initial heartbreak of the ending…I forgot just how much I enjoyed this story.
But it did remind me of how badly I want to binge The Raven Cycle. Because Ronan and Chainsaw.

Want details on Reading Rewind? Check the original post! Have you read The Scorpio Races? What did you think?
I’m still working on The Raven Cycle but I really want to read this one too!
I want to binge TRC so badly, but my TBR is out of control…sigh. One day. :D
I read the first three Raven Cycle books before I read this one, and it amazed me how it was so different, but still had the same vibe. I have the audiobook everyone has been raving about now, but I am afraid to listen to even the tiniest snippet, to quench my curiosity about the narrator, because I know I will want to listen to the entire book and I don’t have the time right now. :)
I’ve heard her audio books are amazing, but I don’t think I would pay attention to audio. :D
Eee, lovely post Stacee :D YAY for re-reading and loving The Scorpio Races even more. <3 Sigh. I have read it seven times. I must re-read it again this year :D It is a huuuuge favorite of mine. So glad you loved it too :) Yay.
