By now, I think everyone knows about my undying love and affection for Megan Erickson and her words, right? So it goes without saying that when I saw the blog tour sign ups for her new book, I couldn’t type fast enough. Since I’ve had Megan on the blog a few times, I had to come up with some new questions.
But before we get to her answers, let’s check out the new book, shall we?
Grant Osprey just had the hottest sex of his life. Sure, they were both in costume, and yes, it was anonymous, but he never expected her to bolt in the middle of the night without so much as a good bye, let alone exchanging numbers. Or names. All he’s left with are her panties and some seriously X-rated memories…until he meets his business partner’s little sister.
Only Chloe Talley isn’t the bold, sexy vixen he remembers. And she wants nothing to do with him.
Cosplay is Chloe’s only chance to leave her boring, socially awkward world behind. To forget that she’s failing at life and can’t be with anyone, let alone a single-father like Grant. But the raw hunger between them is undeniable. With him, she can be a misbehaving maid. A sexy call girl for hire. Each scene pushes Chloe beyond her strict boundaries, until Grant demands the one character she can’t play.
Sounds good, right?
1. Where did the idea for the Gamers series come from?
Well, first of all, my husband is a nerd. So computer/programmer terms are thrown around our house a lot. We have every device imaginable, it seems, and about five cords to match. We have about five random PC towers in our basement I’m begging my husband to get rid of. So. Yeah. We are a nerdy house. Ha! I also, uh, write romance and there’s just something about an uptight nerdy guy that makes me want to write about him. That was Austin, from CHANGING HIS GAME. I had this idea for a setup where a guy finds a dirty Tumblr GIF on an employee’s computer and that’s where that story was born! It was only natural to keep up the nerds through at series. :)
2. Why do you love Grant and Chloe and why should we root for them?
Oh man! Well first, Chloe is the first true introverted heroine I’ve ever written. I’m not really introverted. I’m pretty social and outgoing, and most of my heroines to this point have been about the same. So writing Chloe was a challenge. But yet, I seriously adore her. She’s so sweet and has such a big heart, but she’s flawed and is insecure. I love that she does cosplay and even better that she loves having sex doing it.
Grant is fantastic. He’s funny and a little goofy and loves burritos. And he’s a single father to a really smart girl. He’s ambitious and most of all, he adores Chloe.
3. What was your favorite scene to write?
My favorite scene to write was the beginning, when they meet in cosplay and have sex while still in character. I just love these two.
4. Describe Playing for Her Heart in 5 words.
Sexy
Nerdy
Fun
Heartbreaking
Hopeful
5. What do you order at Starbucks?
Grande mocha (hot in the winter, iced in the summer) with no whip.
6. Is there a movie that you must stop and watch if you see it while flipping channels?
YES! Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. My favorite movie. :)
7. Where in the world do you most want to visit?
Rome.

Megan worked as a journalist covering real-life dramas before she decided she liked writing her own endings better and switched to fiction.
